Driveway Cleaning Bishopbriggs

The Job

Today we were tasked with the job of pressure washing a monoblock driveway and slabbed patio area in Bishopbriggs for the Rev Jim Gemmell. The monoblock was weathered and weeds were growing between the joints. The slabbed areas were black with age and covered in algae spots as a result of surrounding foliage and lack of sunlight.

Assessment

Before starting we carry out a health and safety check to ensure no risk to ourselves and the public:

  • The area is assessed for loose electrical cabling and wiring that could be either a trip or shock hazard.

  • All of the drainage channels were unblocked to allow the water to flow freely and ensure that no loose debris would block the drain.

  • We informed the neighbours of the work we were carrying out to minimise distribution.

  • Trip hazard signs were placed over our working hoses to inform the passing public.

  • Eye and ear defenders are worn as well as vibration proof gloves and hard hats to protect ourselves against any potential harm.

The Cleaning

We do not use any chemicals in the cleaning process, only water, as we value the environment and also wish to protect the health of you and your family.

We power washed the driveway using our 21 litre per minute lance alongside a surface cleaner. This removes all of the dirt and weeds from the blocks. The muck is collected and is either recycled into the surrounding garden foliage or is placed into your garden waste bin.

Once cleaned, we use a fine spray jet lance to remove all loose dirt and debris from the driveway. The windows, doors, walls, fences ect are sprayed down with a fine atomised mist and a natural lemon based cleaning solution is used on the window’s and doors to ensure your house is left in a perfect condition.

The same cleaning process was applied on the patio area at the back of the house. As the dirt was more engrained and some of the algae spots were more difficult to remove, we increased the temperature of the water for a more effective result.

Re-Sanding

Once the monoblock driveway was dry, we re-sanded the area using kiln dried sand. The purpose of re-sanding is to stop the blocks from moving when vehicles are parked on them. It also acts as a preventative measure for the regrowth of weeds.

The Result

At Kleen Dri we use only environmentally safe, non-hazardous cleaning practises to clean your driveway, patio or decking.
